Moscow GCC on Itanium Improvement Workshop

The GCC Improvement on Itanium Workgroup held a workshop at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, RUSSIA on August 7 and 8, 2006. The meeting was hosted by the Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences and sponsored by Intel and HP.

The meeting brought together key industry experts from Intel, HP, Red Hat, and SuSE; influential members of the GCC open-source community; and Gelato member institutions to discuss GCC improvements for Itanium platform (Moscow Attendees). The workshop included technical presentations (see list of presentations below), brainstorming sessions, and tutorials (Moscow Agenda). The group agreed upon the next strategic projects to improve Itanium GCC performance (MeetingNotes). The first meeting of the group was held in Geneva, SWITZERLAND, January 2005 (GenevaMeeting). Most recently the group [WWW] met at Gelato ICE 2006 San Jose this past April.

We all had a wonderful time. Mark Davis from Intel showed the most Gelato spirit by wearing his Gelato long-sleeve shirt (see photo above) AND his Gelato t-shirt (see photo below).
